True Love For Me

When her face, all day long,
Is all I can see.
Emptiness inside when we’re apart.
Minutes seem like hours, until we’re together.
Every love song reminds me of her.
This is true love to me

One smile, and my heart races.
Chasing all pain and worries away.
Feeling young and alive.
Emotions soaring to the skies.
Memories forever cherished.
This is true love to me

Romance, passion, lust, desire.
Heightened senses, enhanced emotions.
Sharing, caring, trusting, believing.
Knowing nothing else matters.
Trusting this will last forever.
This is true love for me

Good-bye

With tear in eye, I take this pen,
For tonight, you see, my life shall end.

The love of my life is gone forever,
And only one way for us to be together.

My heart torn out, my soul is lost.
The price of loneliness, not worth the cost.

So, with tear in eye, I take this pen.
To be with my true love, once again.

Without love there is nothing,

Like ice-cream in summer’s heat.
Like ice cubes in a drink so sweet.

Like plastic tossed in a campfire’s light.
Like candles burning through the night.

Like snow in spring, a robin’s sound.
Like my heart when you’re around.

Some Time

All of our lives revolve around time.
The older one grows,
The faster time goes.
We look to the past,
Just hoping time slows.

From an appointment or date,
Whether you are early or late.
We set or clocks and watches,
In each country, town and state.

We take time, make time,
Buy time, kill time,
Spend time, find time,
Stall for and try to cheat… time.
But, we cannot stop,
Or turn back the hands of…time.

Time can pass us by like a speeding bullet,
Or seem like an eternity if you’re waiting.
You can hope and pray time will fly by,
But, minutes seem like hours, when anticipating.

We take time for granted, is that such a crime?
Yes, all of our lives revolve around time.

United

Our towers demolished,
Yet, we still stand tall.
Though crippling our nation,
We shall not fall

The loss of those thousands,
Their memories retained.
Trying to weaken our spirits,
Yet, it is strength that we’ve gained

With a president astute,
A mayor resolute,
Help to pull us together,
Our cries, never mute

The cowardly acts,
Of those murderous few,
Have altered our lives,
But, sharpened our view

This day we’ll remember,
For some time to come.
But, this nation united,
Is second to none.

It Happened

I didn’t mean to fall in love with you
It happened
Couldn’t imagine I’d find a love so true
It happened

Didn’t know love until you came along
It’s happening
Never dealt with feelings so strong
It’s happening

I truly hope you feel the same way
It can happen
I’ll be there for you, each and every day
It will happen!

Ode To Parents

As you look down on me from above,
I wonder if you’re proud of me.
I’m not so proud of things I’ve done,
Yet, I try to retain some dignity.

At times, I hated you, during my youth,
I know you did the best you could.
Taught me respect, love, and truth,
That guided me through adulthood.

I try to pass down what I’ve learned,
Try to teach the right things.
I know now, the struggles you’d faced,
With young ones under your wings.

So, say a prayer for me tonight,
And guide me when you can.
‘Cause you’ve made me what I am today,
A thoughtful, loving man.

Thinking

Here I am, sitting, thinking of

Political corruption
A nation’s destruction
Poverty, starvation.
My own destination
and love

Unemployment rising
Companies downsizing
Terrorism on high
How will I die
and love

Homes being invaded
Children degraded
Violence everywhere
Why should I care
and love

Hurricanes devastating
Predators contemplating.
Death and disease
My heart’s unease
and love

Nations at war.
Look where we are
So, I sit here thinking,
Thinking of love.

Here is my love
Take it
Here is my heart
Don’t break it

Here are my thoughts
Embrace them
Here are my delusions
Replace them

Here is my hand
Come with me
Here are my eyes
Look and see

Here is my soul
Come thrill it
Here is my life
Fulfill it

Here is my dream
Make it true
Here is my future
Make it you.
