Our pre-press services are individually priced to allow authors to choose only the services they need to get their book into production. Below is a detailed list of our pre-press services and prices followed by a Summarized Production Chart:

$325.00 Print On Demand Title Set Up Fee. (1 time)

This is our cost to get a title into full POD distribution. This includes listing your title in Ingram’s ‘Book In Print’ catalog (where it’s available at wholesale to ANY bookseller in the world), Listings at both Barnes and Noble.com and Amazon.com, and listing your title on www.rev-press.com for direct distribution to the public.

$12.00 Per Year Archive Fee per Title.

This is the yearly cost of archiving your title in our POD database.

$85.00 ISBN / Barcode Creation and Registration.

For your title to be sold through booksellers and national distribution channels it needs an International Standard Book Number. This is a unique identification number specifically used to track books around the world. An ISBN is not required to publish a book, but it is required for that title to be sold through bookstores.

$1.50 Per Page Typesetting.

We will create your text block (typeset and interior content creation and design) for $1.25 per page. A 150 page book would cost $187.50 (most places charge $45 to $85 per hour) If you are willing and able to create your own text block in a pdf to our printer’s specifications, then you can save on your production cost by doing it yourself. (We offer training – free of charge - to anyone with a genuine desire in learning to create their own text block.) You will need a page layout and design program such as PageMaker or Quark Express, or a similar program that will save directly into pdf format.

$0.75 Per Page Professional Editorial/Proof-reading Charge.

We can have your manuscript proof-read for all spelling, grammar, and clarity for $0.75 per page. (most places charge $35 per hour). We can also show you how to get your manuscript proof-read absolutely free of charge (providing you know a high-school English teacher, or 5 literate people you trust to search the manuscript for errors.)

$40.00 Per Hour Custom Cover Design.

We will create a ONE OF A KIND cover for your book---literally. We can say that because we do not use templates. Each and every cover we produce is an original creation (usually a combination of the author’s original vision and the creativity of our award winning book cover designers.) See our book cover gallery for samples of our work. We charge $35 per hour, with the average cover taking 4 hours to complete. (most places charge from $65 to $85 per hour and it’s not unusual for a cover to take 10 to 15 hours to design. I’ve heard of people spending anywhere from $900 to $3000 for cover design) The average time it takes us to design a cover is 4 hours ($140.00). If you have some graphic art experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, or comparable graphic design program and you are willing and able to create your own cover template in a high-res (300 dpi) Tiff file created to our printer’s specifications, you can save on your production costs by doing the work yourself.

So what’s the bottom line production cost on a title? Some people require more than others to get their title produced, but an author with their own ISBN number and the ability to create their own text block and cover template can get their title into production for as little as $337.00.
